"Thank You Mother Earth" Poem

Gree(n)tings everyone!!!

I hope you and yours are doing well. I'm doing well, thanks be to God! I came across this beautiful poem below and wanted to share with all of you. Have a great day, and a productive week!

Thank you Mother Earth for allowing us to walk on your soils and breathe in your air,
And for bearing trees that provide shelter and crop,
Thank you for the plump clouds that entertain us with their funny shapes, and for the feisty ball that warms our skin with its orangey glow,
You provide rivers and streams for us and our animal-kin, you ruffle our hair with your whirly winds – for that and much more, we thank you,
Thank you for the pelts of snow and pours of rain, and thank you for erasing our dull moods with your magical aura,
Thank you Mother Earth for selflessly giving all that you do, although at times we don’t deserve it,
We don’t deserve your selfless giving when we step out of line and throw litter on your grounds,
We don’t deserve your selfless giving when we pollute your air and your water,
But yet you still give because you believe that we can change…..and we are finally starting too,
The ugliness of this synthetic world we have created is beginning to encourage a positive change and we are striving to make our actions with you in mind,
We have a long way to go Mother Earth, but we are closer today than we have ever been, which gives hope for a more sustainable future,
Thank you Mother Earth for opening our eyes with your subtle warnings, we are finally beginning to see that you were not created for us to mishandle, instead, we were created to steward you.
